Dear Trinity Yard School Family,
What we have built over the years at TYS can be measured by the accomplishments of our students and their growth as individuals, learners, and contributing members of their communities. Our programs, which serve to empower the youth in Cape Three Points, are of immeasurable value and importance. TYS is essential to helping students escape the clutches of cyclical poverty through the power of education; TYS shows students that they are more than their circumstances. The sheer fact that a school and learning model such as TYS continues to operate with a thriving student body after 17 years is an incredible feat and a testament to our students, staff, and supporters like yourselves. Our impact is more evident with each graduating class and entrepreneurial success, and that work continues.
Graduates
The class of 2025 has graduated! After two and a half years of core academics, arts electives, and sustainable farming, TYS has transformed tentative kids into inspired young adults equipped with the confidence to tackle the next phase of their journey. This group has embraced their high school experience with grace, developing their academic capabilities and social awareness. Most importantly, our students have learned that they are valued as people, as students with talents and dreams. We are proud of our students and will continue to support them as they make their way through the Career Development Program (CDP) and into the working world beyond their villages.
Beginning in January, our new graduates will enroll in the CDP, which will facilitate individualized placement for each student in an apprenticeship or technical training program of their choosing.

Bridge Student Highlight: Gifty Baidoo
Growing up in the village of Cape Three Points, Gifty spent her childhood on her family farm, cultivating cassava and tomatoes and caring for her younger siblings. Like many young women in rural Ghana, Gifty’s responsibilities at home overshadowed her pursuits in school.
Since joining TYS in September 2023, Gifty has continued to impress her teachers and peers. As part of the upper-level classes in all subjects, Gifty has developed into a leader in the academic setting, assisting her classmates and encouraging other female students to find the confidence to engage in class discussions. Gifty is a joy to have at the school, but more than that, she is a kind and generous young woman who continues to shine and play a vital role in her family and community. “I would like to be a seamstress; I like to design clothes and sell them. I want to have my own shop one day.” Gifty will continue her studies in fashion design in the city of Takoradi.

Farming Project
During the summer rainy season, our farming capabilities doubled in capacity due to the development of a new half-acre plot of well-draining soil near the school. The soil is suitable to produce vegetables such as green peppers, cucumber, onions, tomatoes, hot peppers, garden eggs (eggplant), garlic, carrots, and even ginger. The extension of our farm, which will allow equal yield during the rainy season, has allowed us to produce year-round, helping to sustain our meals program. All the produce from our school farm is used in our kitchens to support both student and staff lunches, which has helped to decrease our food expenses by about 20–25% annually. In 2025, our farm produced: 10,800 eggs, 36 lbs of mushrooms, 9 quarts of honey, and supplemented the kitchen in serving 25,410 meals.
In January of 2026, TYS will host an expert farmer for the spring semester who specializes in vegetable production and compost/soil generation. The South African native will spearhead our Green Day classes, which meet each Wednesday morning, to deliver both theoretical and practical applications of sustainability.

After School Program
Upper primary-aged students arrive each afternoon with jubilant energy and full smiles to enjoy their afternoon meal before classes begin. The After School Program (ASP) continues to provide a critical platform for the primary youth of Cape Three Points to improve their English language skills. The ASP curriculum explores various aspects of written and spoken English through a variety of activities such as group and individual reading, pictorial storytelling, games, and movement. Our program incorporates hands-on problem solving through the arts and computer literacy to prepare students for today’s changing and fast-growing technological age.
Player Highlight
Stephen Addea has been the brightest soccer talent to come out of our program in the past five years. He played on the Trinity Yard FC U-10 and U-12 teams until 2023 when he was picked up by a soccer club in Kumasi, Excelencia F.C. TYS facilitated and sponsored Stephen’s move to Kumasi and enrolled him in Kumasi Academy.
The transition was not without its hardships, yet he has done well in school and on the pitch. This past summer, Stephen had a breakout year, scoring a record number of goals at the highest level of youth club soccer in the country. During a tournament, Stephen was scouted by the U-15 national team coach and invited to try out. Stephen then went on to officially join the national team in October. Stephen now attends Accra Academy so he can live closer to his new training camp. Stephen, our very own TYS F.C. player, now proudly wears the number 20 jersey for the national team of Ghana.
Remembering Christopher Quayson
Christopher Quayson passed away on 20 April 2025 after a courageous battle with a severe illness. He is deeply missed by all. His kindness, honesty, and generosity will always be remembered. Christopher enrolled in our bridge program in September 2022. During his time as a student, Christopher was genuinely curious about everything; his keen interest in learning made him stand out among his peers. He showed a high level of academic capability and was a leader in class discussion. Just like many of the youth in his hometown village of Akwidaa, Christopher was inspired to experience life elsewhere. Upon graduation in June of 2023, he continued his CDP study as a tile mason in Takoradi, where he got to live out his dream of being part of city life, working as an apprentice.
After a year into his career, Christopher fell victim to a brutal illness that eventually took his life. A beloved friend to many, the sudden loss of our student continues to leave everyone in shock to this day. During his funeral, the entire TYS community, his friends, family, and all sympathizers gathered in his hometown to pay him their last respects. Christopher is sorely missed, and his absence is felt by all who knew him. Christopher exemplified all that TYS stands for in his pursuit of knowledge, community-building, and compassion. The TYS community will continue to honor Christopher’s memory by remaining committed to those same values.
