The batik/tie and dye course, offered by Emmanuel Gedzah and now Ruth Ego focused on the various techniques used in the production of batik and tie and die fabrics. The class will be structured so that most of the learning will be hands-on, practical experience, though a portion of the class will involve classroom teaching of theory. Students will learn to design and carve their own wood and foam stamps and produce high quality material. The course will run until the end of this year and into January 2010.
